I'm so pissed at this post by Kaijuno I need to sperg about it here because I know I'd get banned for being autistic in LC.
I tried my best to summarize, analyze, and rebuke what Kaijuno is saying in this post because of the myriad of misinformation that she spreads. In addition to the amount of basic physics concepts that she frequently misquotes or flat out mistakes for another concept entirely. If there’s any mistakes I make, (I am not a PHD Physicist but someone who likes studying it as a hobby) please correct me.
>Kaijuno was “sent” this mysterious declassified Mid 1970s CIA experimentation document that exposes human influence on random number generation. Random number generators (RNGs) seem to generate “structures” (Of what kind? She never specifies) when people focus on the generator. (In what way? She never specifies)
>She explains that if a generator chooses between ones and zeros, when individuals (or groups of people) within the experiment “focus” on the generators (Assuming that they think of a specific number, what I think she’s implying?) The generators create a “structure”, generating more ones than zeros when people think of more ones.
>”Statistically speaking” the trials that were run had highly improbable results, making it nearly impossible for the phenomena to occur when RNGs consistently recreate the aforementioned structure.
>She lurks and finds other papers online that relate to string theory (somehow) and suggests its underlying theory is similar to structures exhibited by RNGs.
>She lurks more and finds other papers dealing with Planck units and the Heisenberg uncertainty principle, tying these three concepts together suggesting a unified field theory. Kaijuno is trying to figure out how these concepts could be tied together.
I have no idea why she is connecting a form of units, a principle, and a theory to attempt suggesting a unified theory. All three concepts are such small puzzle pieces of a bigger picture, she’s trying to make a mountain out of a molehill.
>Kaijuno claims that human consciousness might not be an isolated system, challenging preconceptions of the human brain. She is suggesting that human consciousness can influence these systems and other humans without any forms of communication. Comparing it to magnetic fields. Unseen but very clearly having an influence on each other.
>In the 1990s the PEAR group set up a global network of random number generators, when world events happened the random number generators exhibited structure. The deviation from randomness seemed to be correlated with its emotional magnitude, including proximity to the generator themselves. The experiment is ongoing, under the name “The Global Consciousness Project”
>Kaijuno ties this back to quantum field theory, misidentifying the double slit experiment to the observer effect, as viewing a particle influences its behavior. Kaijuno claims that human consciousness influences particle behavior when in reality it is observation that influences behavior.
>Kaijuno ties this to string theory, (for some fucking reason), stating that “on the planck level” (I think she means on the quantum level? Planck units are used in astrophysics) the universe is bubbling with virtual particles. (Not really string theory, just general particle physics basics) (She interprets virtual particles as if they are another form particles, not as an abstract and unreal form used for calculation)
>Kaijuno incorrectly claims that “string theory states that the universe at the quantum level creates structure, or particles out of these random harmonization and ‘bubbles’ in the very fabric of spacetime.” (Which, really, isn't how it works. String theory is a *theory* claiming that particles are not shaped as spheres, rejecting the common misconception of spherical particles in order to rationalize the unpredictable behavior found in quantum mechanics. String theorists assert that particles are in string-like structures instead.)
>Kaijuno wants to work on “the math” in order to find connections between quantum mechanics and human consciousness “influencing” probability. She believes that probability can be manipulated by certain forces, and these forces (quantum mechanical concepts and human consciousness) may be related or even the same concept.
>A tumblr user corrects that The Global Consciousness Project is greatly criticised in the STEM community for their horrible methodology, greatly casting doubt on Kaijuno's understanding and her post.
If Kaijuno is an astrophysicist, why the fuck is she theorizing on quantum/particle physics and do her “self-publishing physicist” LARP? I think this post was somehow carefully and sloppily crafted to upkeep her online persona. Carefully crafted in a way that she chooses words that make her seem more interesting and intelligent, as well as referencing her previous made-up lore where she got into trouble with the government about her work. However looking into her post and having a modicum of understanding with the concepts she mentions, I realize how little she knows. If she has the gall to guzzle pseudoscientific papers that clearly have shoddy methodology, how would I ever be able to trust her understanding of astrophysics? She drops these more “unknown” and “advanced” words to distract tumblr users from how confidently she butchers said concepts.
I have tried my best to follow her thinking, to try to understand the papers she could be referencing, but I do not have a single idea why or how she connected string theory to pseudo scientific MK Ultra experiments. I do think she did read the papers, but I do not think she understood what the papers themselves were discussing. Many of the concepts in the more physics-heavy aspects of her posts seem to be mentioned in its abstract and methodology in order to get more attention. However, that is my only guess as to why she brought up Planck Units and the Heisenberg Uncertainty principle. She tries to tie it in the latter parts of the post but fails horribly because it's clear she doesn’t know what she’s talking about. It also feels like she’s padding out the post for some kind of word count or to seem more intelligent, but it backfires.
It is insane how much blatant tin foiling she is doing in this post, the fact that people on tumblr eat this slop up makes me dumbfounded. I *think* She is trying to allude to human consciousness influencing probability of quantum mechanical calculations, but it’s already established that it’s human observation, making her theory null. There’s definitely an aspect she tries tying together regarding human consciousness influencing randomness, connecting it to the randomness of quantum mechanics but again, it was disproven.
