<What's your skincare routine look like?
Bior sunscreen in the morning, that's it unless I wear makeup. At night I use an oil cleanser on days where I wear makeup, then a green tea enzyme scrub, and finish off with a moisturizer. Every 2 weeks I'll do a clay mask, and an extra moisturizing mask when I need it.

<What are your favourite skincare products?
Bior Aqua sunscreen. I wear it every day! Also pic related but it's too expensive for me at the moment. Still haven't found a dupe that fits its quality.

<How do you engage in self-care?
I try to keep in consistent, even when I don't want to because the physical routine is also mental self care. I indulge as needed when in the mood. I love fancy baths

<Do you have any unpopular opinions about certain tonics or charms?
Sometimes a little hair damage is actually useful. My hair looks and styles better after some bleaching.
<What's your skincare routine look like?
Very minimal, just daily moisturizer and SPF. I wash my face with just one cleanser since I don't wear makeup. Retinol and salycilic acid on alternating days if I remember.

<What are your favourite skincare products?
Aveeno in general but sometimes in the morning, if I smell the oats, it makes me so hungry.

<How do you engage in self-care?
Mostly I focus on health, although I can't claim that entirely with the retinol, lol. I also lift weights 3x a week and bike 3x a week. I focus also on diet and eat around 100g of protein a day for my gainz, plus creatine. Honestly creatine is amazing! They have hidden this from us... Nonnies please try it!

<Do you have any unpopular opinions about certain tonics or charms?
I don't know if it's unpopular, but some of the routines I see have so many products, I just wonder where people have the time, or if all those things even do much. The last time I felt like this was while watching this video https://youtu.be/eqQNNtJ46e8?si=RWvuy3YBaqWZF_qC&t=792 . It's just... endless.

How did you start your fitness journey? I was really into fitness a few years ago, but I haven't been able to get into it again. I don't have space for a home gym, my local gyms all suck. I want to be cool and healthy like you. And what benefit have you seen from creatine?
Replies: >>2604
<What's your skincare routine look like?
Dove face bar in the morning, followed by Ponds Cold Cream. Simple AHA cleanser in the night, followed by another slather of cold cream. Laser peel every 3-4 months.

<What are your favourite skincare products?
Ponds Cold Cream. It's the only moisturizer that I like. I go through a container of it every month because I like to slather it on thick. I like that it's non-comedogenic.

<How do you engage in self-care?
Broad question, but I think fitness and diet are the biggest components of self-care. If you can't take care of your body, you're just inviting disaster into your life. I try to get 10k steps every day, and I workout at least 5 times a week. Eating enough protein, getting enough nutrients, indulging in some junk food once or twice a month.

<Do you have any unpopular opinions about certain tonics or charms?
A lot of people would benefit from investing in professional treatments rather than spending large sums on products. Some people over-rely on products instead of nourishing their body, i.e., a person needs to eat healthy and exercise to look good, if they don't then no matter what products they try, they won't look as good as they could.

Yay! I do bodyweight fitness at home for exactly the same reasons, I hate going to the gym. It doesn't take up room in the house, I just have a pull-up bar on a door frame and the rest I can do in the living room with just a yoga mat and some chairs, and that all gets put back away after I'm done.

Ntayrt, but creatine does slightly increase the water retention for your muscles, so that's why the pump lasts for longer. It also contributes to more stamina during workouts, so you build muscle quicker because you can do more exercise.

I have ADHD and am not medicated yet unfortunately so I like to drink caffeine, I’ve learned to balance it more and drink it earlier in the day and it has helped immensely with my sleep schedule.
I like to lift weights and go on runs, lifting weights is also what I do whenever I see something that pisses me off because I have weights at home kek. Lifting helps regulate my emotions. I’m trying to sculpt my body but I’m trash at it
<Do you have any unpopular opinions about certain tonics or charms?
Not really unpopular but a shit ton of products are really unnecessary and don’t make that much of a difference if your skin is normal. Going to a dermatologist is way more useful than buying a bunch of products. On the topic of products too, so many products are advertised as “better” just because they’re foreign. I don’t know why korean skincare is such a thing. it always came off as “Look!! This product is EXOTIC!>>2604
I take creatine and I’m not afraid of bulk, I like to take it before dinner and right after exercise. Because it fills me up+helps with the muscle building aspect if you take it right after lifting weights. It’s kind of hard to get muscle while being lean as a female though, does anyone got advice on that?

I let the methylene blue hype get to me and I'm going to be trying it out orally and topically soon... Here's a good video that covers how mb can be utilized in skincare.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=USCtKUpIX8I
This is one of the videos that got me interested in the first place. I'm not using the particular brand of products that the doctor is shilling though. I did an impulse buy on another website called "Meraki" and bought their tallow balm and liquid dropper. It's been three days now and I started both at the same time because I got too excited lol. I'm only ingesting a few small drops at the start of the day and doing a second dosage later if I feel bold enough. As for the balm, I wish I looked closer at the ingredients beforehand since it has essential oils but it's whatever. It's too soon to see the effects on my skin yet but I'm worried it'll actually dye blue overtime with me applying it two times a day lol. So I may cut back to applying it once a day. As for the drops... they're freaky. The first day I took two small separate dosages and noticed this weird feeling in my head. It wasn't painful, and it wasn't sore, but I could tell it was doing something. There's supposedly a lot of good neurological effects that comes with the stuff, and I do have to say I feel slighly more alive than I normally do (I have chronic sleep problems that leave me feeling braindead all day). I'm going to wait another couple of weeks or two months to see if there's any other positive changes.

Also, one thing I do want to note and warn others of is that this stuff apparently dyes your organs blue. I found this out yesterday but don't know if there's any other negative implications with that since I couldn't find anything else. It's really fucking weird and I don't know how long your organs stay like that for. I'm still processing that but for now I'm just going to stick to small dosages and see how I like it, and then consider cycling it on/off if I do end up wanting to keep it in my routine.

I haven't looked into it too much but I'm interested if anyone has anything else to say about it as well. One thing that has me cautious is the use of LED bulbs rather than incandescent since LED's emit radiation.

An update: Neurologically, I felt like I noticed improvements with mood and thinking clarity the first week but not so much anymore. One cool thing that did surprise me about MB is that apparently it's used to treat UTI's - I had no idea and my long-term UTI problem has been pretty much fixed! Really happy about that. Topically, it's hard for me to say whether there's been any noteable improvements on my skin. I'll probably make a better update on that later.

I've also been experimenting with methylene blue and I've had similar results. I'm slowly stepping up the dose so I don't take too much because it can cause serotonin syndrome and the exact dose at which this happens isn't defined. The main improvement that I've noticed is that it improves the speed of my thinking, putting thoughts into words is now much more fluid and it cuts through apathy and makes me more motivated.
Replies: >>4261
>>4259
I thought serotonin syndrome only happens when you take it with antidepressants
Replies: >>4263
>>4261
Because methylene blue is a monoamine oxidase inhibitor, it prevents the break down of serotonin. The body synthesizes serotonin from the amino acid tryptophan. Anything that contains high levels of tryptophan can increase serotonin levels, this includes food, herbal supplements and exercise.

For example if someone eats a lot of turkey breast, they would need to lower the amount of MB they take because lean turkey meat is high in tryptophan. The therapeutic dose of MB for each person will vary because it's dependent on diet not just body weight. A vegan would need more MB than someone who eats lots of meat because a vegan diet is chronically deficient in tryptophan.

For me personally, I eat lots of meat, eggs and dairy, exercise every day and use EAA supplements, which means my therapeutic dose of MB is going to be lower than someone who is sedentary and eats processed foods.

If it's an option, try switching to honey. The human brain registers honey as being sweeter than sugar but it actually contains less carbs. Pure sugar is 100% carbs where as honey is 60-70% carbs. Honey also has a much lower GI than pure sugar.

Hey, MB anon here. This is a bit of a belated review since I wanted to do this at the two month mark but I lost track of time (my bad). Besides some of my initial thoughts on the products I've been using, there isn't a whole lot else to say. The topical balm is by no surprise not performing any miracles. Maybe with more long-term usage some of the anti-aging benefits will become more apparent, but as its been thus far - the very faint forehead lines I started with haven't drastically changed in appearance. Because the lines I have are so faint, it's hard for me to really tell they're there sometimes and other times I think they've gotten worse (which has led to me recently biting the bullet and using retinaldehyde) but I'm willing to keep MB in my routine in the off-chance it'll help down the road with maintenance. The tallow formulation I'm using from Meraki is ass though, and once I'm done with my jar I'm planning on switching to a MB moisturizer formulation from either Bluelene or just mixing my own drops into a ceramide moisturizer or something. I do want to note that I've been very consistent with my topical application and have been using it mostly two times a day. I know I initially expressed some concern with my skin dying blue but that hasn't really been a problem. With the tallow formulation I've been using, it has a lot of essential oils that I suspect has been breaking me out here and there. It's nothing too severe - just maybe one or two mild red bumps that form within the week and never fully form into a painful pimple or anything harsh, and it usually goes away after a few days. One surprising side effect that I've noticed is that the bloodflow to my face increases after application, and as a result I've been growing more hair on my face. Ick (I know) but it's been helping regrow some eyebrow hair that I've been trying to stimulate for years with castor oil. After I noticed the regrowth, I thought I'd try applying the mb to a small bald spot I've had on the corner of my hairline since I was a teen and I'm now seeing solid hairgrowth there too! For comparison, with castor oil only I'd have some small fine hairs grow but they'd never fully develop and would fall out after a short time. I tried searching online to see if this is a known side-effect of topical mb usage and saw one or two articles that were filled with science jargon that seemed to suggest it but I didn't really look into it further to confirm that that's what those articles were stating for certain. This is just my anecdotal experience so don't take it as confirmed fact.

Beyond my own usage, I did test it out on my parents too but only on two occasions. My dad has some outdoor allergies that flare up in the summer and last month he developed hives all along his upper back. So I applied the mb tallow cream on the left side and his go-to hydrocortisone cream on the other, and surprisingly after 3hrs the left side became visibly less red than the right. On my mom, I applied a little bit of excess mb cream I had on the back of her hand (habit I usually do with any excess skincare product I may have if she's nearby lol) and she claimed her sunspots became visibly faded afterwards. Again, all of these are just my anecdotal experience. I wonder if some of the other ingredients in the cream are helping any of this too but I haven't deep-dived it a whole lot. Been very busy lately.

As for the mb drops that I've been ingesting, I'm still taking small 2-3 drop dosages but I haven't been very consistent. I'll get into it more later as I'm already a bit burnt out typing all this.

Thank you for this breakdown! I'm doing the red light therapy, and I have the same "problem" in that the lines I'd like gone are pretty fine. I think they fluctuate more based on my hydration than anything else, at this time. It's interesting that you've noticed more hair growing on your face, and how that can be a benefit in some cases like your eyebrows.

Thanks for running these various experiments, especially with the comparison to hydrocortisone.

This is about exercise but I guess it counts. I really enjoy cycling but right now I've been using my bike on a tacx neo trainer and doing my exercise indoors because I've just had too many problems with cars, peds, etc out in the wild. So I've been using Zwift (added a screenshot) on my apple tv hooked to the tacx neo (picrel so people know what the heck I'm talking about).

My issue is I cannot ride hunched over anymore, I just can't. It sucks and it hurts. I'm tired of trying different saddles to see if they don't hurt as bad, they all do. So I want a recumbent. I could get a recumbent that hooks up to the tacx neo, but the cost of recumbents I'm seeing is like $1500. Which... ok. I think the footprint of it being in my living room would be huge, too.

So there's also an entire recumbent stationary bike which is like $1200. But it has a way smaller footprint. I can't take it outside, but I'm not sure I'm gonna want to, anyway. If I get it, I could always sell the tacx neo and maybe even make the whole cost back.

Alternatively I can get a $300 recumbent bike that I can still use with Zwift but have to manually change the resistance. But I'll have no idea if it's a piece of shit or not or if it's going to break. Also the resistance is really light. Penny wise and pound stupid?

So should I... Go for the most flexible option of the recumbent bike plus the tacx neo? Go for the all in one option? Or go for the cheapo?

>As for the mb drops
Okay, so like I already mentioned, I was taking 2-3 drops (which is roughly 500-750mcg). I normally took it shortly after waking up and occasionally I'd take another dose of the same amount afterwards or later in the day if I felt like it. I was doing pretty well taking it for over a month and was noticing some mental clarity and mood improvement but stopped after I realized taking it alongside caffeine had some undesirable effects. I took a late dosage one day not long after drinking some coffee and it wound up making me feel wide awake. I know it's not good to pull all nighters, but I have an odd and inconsistent sleep schedule that I struggle fixing, so I thought I'd take advantage of this and took another 3 dosages with coffee spread apart maybe 4-6 hours each in the hopes that I could stay awake and begin sleeping at a decent time. I never felt more awake yet tired in my life lol. Well... my mood wound up taking an immense dip when I was getting closer to the 24hr mark which culminated into a really weird depressive spiral and breakdown. So after that I stopped taking it for a while (like 2 weeks iirc), and now I'm being extremely careful taking it on days where I have or am planning on drinking coffee. And considering I drink coffee on a near daily basis, it's led to me taking it very rarely and inconsistently. So I'm afraid I don't have much more to share on that front.

>>4930
>I think they fluctuate more based on my hydration than anything else

>I'm being extremely careful taking it on days where I have or am planning on drinking coffee
This is strange because I take 25 drops before I have my coffee in the morning. I have a small Bormioli glass bottle that I use to mix the drops with water before drinking them, I then drink my coffee to take the taste away. In the late afternoon I do the same with a pot of earl grey tea.

I'm wondering if it may have been a combination of caffeine and something you could have eaten.

>Care to share how it's been going with you?
I gradually stepped up the dose until I got to 70 drops a day. At that point I could feel that it was too much and I was starting to display subtle symptoms of mania. This can also happen when anti-depressant doses are too high. The symptoms were being more talkative and confident when I'm usually shy and introverted and being more impulsive, especially with spending money. The speed of thought was amazing, I was able to blaze through accounting spread sheets because I could think so quickly. I did start to lose clarity of thought which just left me procrastinating and coming up with weird solutions to minor problems.

It wasn't particularly bad, I wasn't in any danger of serotonin syndrome and the manic symptoms were very mild. All that happened was I bought more than I needed at the supermarket, bought another NVME drive for my computer when I don't really need anymore drives and the people that I know were pleasantly surprised when having a conversation with me. I was aware that this would happen when I reached a dose that was too high.

I'm now back down to 50 drops a day, 25 in the morning and 25 in the late afternoon. At this dose I get the benefits of the improved clarity and speed of thought as well as increased volition and a reduction in anhedonia.

>I'm wondering if it may have been a combination of caffeine and something you could have eaten.
Was thinking about it more and I think at that time I was drinking my coffee with raw milk, and from what I was reading milk is a good source of tryptophan. So that was likely it. Trying to figure out how best to navigate this going forward since I really like raw milk.

>The symptoms were being more talkative and confident when I'm usually shy and introverted and being more impulsive, especially with spending money.
Definitely noticed similar things with me some days lol. I haven't considered that that's likely a result of a dosage that's too high.

>reduction in anhedonia
That's another thing I like about this stuff, now that you mention it. I also find myself getting a goofy smile on my face when I come into work when normally I loathe it lol. I think other people notice it but I don't mind it at all. Feels good.

Also, random tidbit:
I wound up creating my own hybrid mb cream mixing in 1 drop (250mcg) with Illiyoon Ceramide Ato Concentrate Cream into a small 50ml jar. I'm sure that doesn't sound like much but the pigment from just one drop is so concentrated that I fear if I do another it'll be enough to stain my skin lol. Anyways, so far I'm really liking it! The texture's so much better than the oily tallow I was using and I feel like it's absorbing better.

I guess I can be a hater and be right, then. I've been seeing more and more rings like this and I'm just like... wow. I wonder how ugly that's going to be after it picks up any amount of gunk. Especially if they go cheap on the metal for the sake of the rocks. I've been considering picrel but even this one I'm worried about catching stuff on it.

I hate this duck lip design for settings people are coming out with. From every angle it looks stupid.
Methylene Blue update
I'm still taking it but I have further reduced the dose to 40 drops a day as I started noticing mania symptoms at 50 drops. I guess the lesson here is not to step up the dose too quickly and to be aware of when it's too much.

I'm also going to experiment with Dimethyl Sulfoxide. I was reading about this and became interested because it has been used successfully to treat chronic sinusitis. I've been suffering with sinusitis on and off for years and even surgery hasn't completely solved the problem, it just reduces the frequency. I'll post updates for anyone interested to see if it works or not.

Dimethyl sulfoxide is much harder to find information about than methylene blue. Most of the needed information is paywalled online, so I bought a book about it that contains the recommended usage and dosage instructions. The price of the book was the same as a one month substack subscription. DMSO also requires more specialist equipment to handle and correctly dose. I'll report back once I have actually started taking it.

Cutting all my hair off today. Going from butt length to shoulder. Tired of trapping it between my back and backs of chairs, it getting in the way, being too hot, etc. I don't even bother taking care of it. Time to say goodbye. So why do I feel so bad about it, lol? Thinking a shag with curtain bangs.

Short hair feels great, nonnie! It can be a hard transition if you've had long hair for a while, but as someone who chopped theirs off i never went back. You'll get weird comments from family and friends though so be ready for that. You'll be so much happier, though!

Right after the cut was done, I habitually flipped my hair out from under my purse strap and then realized It was all already free. I can sit in my car seat without accidentally catching my hair between the seat and my back. No regrets, so many annoyances I just lived with have vanished. And it's still long enough to throw in a pony tail if I want.

DMSO report.

Everything I ordered has arrived. DMSO dissolves certain types of plastic so I needed to purchase borosilicate glass lab equipment, this included beakers, measuring tubes, pippettes and glass storage bottles.

I suffer from chronic inflammation in my sinuses so I made up two of the recommended mixtures from the book, ear drops which is DMSO with colloidal silver and a sinus rinse made with DMSO, neti salt, distilled water and colloidal silver.

The ear drops were fine, no stinging or unpleasant sensations. I used the sinus rinse in a neti pot to flush both sides of my sinuses. This did sting slightly. For about ten minutes after using the rinse, I had this weird feeling of being really happy and I couldn't stop smiling. It's been a few hours now and I still feel good. I have had some clicking in my ears as the inflammation and fluid clears. I can also breathe through my nose more clearly than I have in years.
Reviving an old thread!
I went on a jog today, started prepping my meals for the week, and did some skincare. How have you hearties been practicing self care recently?

I've been enjoying some smoothies for breakfast. I had been doing resistance bands but that fell off. I need to get back into it!

I wanted to improve my circulation and bone density because osteoporosis runs in my family. Bought a vibration plate and it's pretty cool so far. It's helped my wrestles leg syndrome and my legs feel less heavy after runs!

I've been eating a lot of veg and wholemeal breads and grains instead of white recently. I also did a sheet mask and got my hair done a few days ago.

Nice nonny! I've always loved veggies but proteins are hard for me. My meals the past month have been mostly protein and fibre, cuz I'm trying to get away from carbs and sugar in general. Do you do anything special with the wholemeal breads or do they just compliment your meals?
