Some things to consider:
• Board rules
• Board theming and CSS
• More annoying parrot gifs
• More (or less) media on autoplay
• Eventual appointment of board staff and/or a board captain
• Topics to encourage and avoid
• Board-specific post styling and stickers
• Mandatory talk-like-a-pirate rule for OPs

Pardon my scattered mind, I’ve got very serious business to attend to right now, but I didn’t want to leave the board completely rudderless.

yes but you are permitted to not talk like a pirate in threads unless stated otherwise

Ahoy! Good luck with whatever matters ye must attend to!
Some ideas in me head:
<Board Rules
It really depends on whether we bring cow culture here, I think a more lax version of the global LC rules would work if a cow general ever should be instated.
Besides that some basic board rules could be;
>No infighting
>While it can't be 100% avoided male posters shouldn't be obvious, announce themselves or post to seek validation
<Topics to avoid
Black pill discussion, fandom discourse, husbando infighting.
<More annoying parrot gifs
Yes, yes, yes. Perhaps some talented nonas could also make pirate themed picmixes for future threads for more gif action.
I'll probably add more ideas later but this is what I have on the top of my mind.
>>79
Seconding that pirate talk be enforced only in threads that explicitly state it, while it be fun some privateers may not enjoy it so much. I'm mixed about the idea of discouraging LC shit talk, because while I don't think that should be overly encouraged we should be allowed to criticise it, though we do have the bunker thread to that in...
Replies: >>102
Something I forgot to mention. The board name, URL, and poster names (privateer) could all be changed if desired. Everything was picked on a whim, after all. Also, should the board stay SFW with forced privateer names?
Replies: >>102 >>107

>topics to avoid
agree with all of those! also maybe typical things that set people off
>age-talk, race-talk, hybristophilia-talk
and i agree with you that criticism should be allowed, but this shouldn’t become some kind of splinter militia, and keeping it contained to one thread would probably be for the best!

For this board you should replace the Admin flair with Captain and Board Owner with Quartermaster.

Make it like those IBs that give you a randomized name every time.

Admittedly I've gotten quickly attached to the pirate theme, though if a majority of nonnies want to change it that'd be fine by me. Whether the board be strictly SFW or allow NSFW is a hard toss up imo, because anons do hornypost but at the same time it's much more tame in comparison to things posted in the cuckquean board.
>>102
Agree with all additions! Though for the time being a LC critical thread probably shouldn't be made until the board is more established.
>>106
Randomised pirate themed names could be fun
Replies: >>108
>SFW/NSFW
It's a literal toggle in the board's settings, one that doesn't matter at all for a board that will remain hidden like this one, but my weary mind couldn't help but ask the question. I figured a fujo thread wouldn't hurt but I'll leave it up to your captain once we find one since she'll be the one mopping it up.
>>106
All good suggestions! I'll have to look into how I could implement randomized names.
>>107
The pirate theme is fun and different imo, who doesn't like occasionally leaning into obnoxiousness?

I think nsfw being enabled would be fine as long as we kept the etiquette of spoilering nsfw files and containment threads.
The pirate theme should stay for the sake of the joke kek, we are the super secret pirateboard after all! Just add a banner with pearls or something.

Replies: >>152
>>150
Emojis were banned because emojis can be used to make someone’s post more identifiable. Basically emojifagging with not often used emoji. I wish they had allowed us to use a certain set of emojis available on most keyboards or let us vote on which ones we could use. Even board-specific emojis to weed out the newfags.
>>111
God all this makes me nostalgic to the fun farmer gimmick lc had going for it. 'this user has been sent to pasture' is incredibly charming and i favour it more in place of witty red texts
Board ownership has just been transferred to a volunteer. She should be able to make an announcement when she's ready.
Ahoy, mateys! Listen up, fer these here be the rules o' the board (and the global rules too, arrr):

1. Avast, if ye be a male, with them XY chromosomes, includin' them trans "women", ye best walk the plank and find another ship to sail.
2. Any cow you bring aboard must be over 18.
3. Integrate, or ye'll be makin' the kraken angry, and ye don't want that, do ye?

Aye, these rules be the law o' the sea, and any scurvy dog who breaks 'em will be walkin' the plank, arrr!
Non-pirate version of rules:

1. Don't post here if you're a male, with XY chromosomes, including trans "women".
2. Cows must be over 18
3. Integrate.

I'd like to continue using this thread as meta discussion. In the bunker there was some discussion about a new IB, I'd like to encourage this as much as possible. I've made this thread >>176 for this purpose.

Jeff has called the admin mom several times, and I can't find the archived bunker threads but there was another long-time poster that called webmin a woman. Every time a male poster makes a response post to several of nonnies' comments they always wonder why we automatically think webmin is a moid. If admin was a tranny the posters would be giving them a name like troonmin or something. I highly suspect webmin is a woman and my tinfoil hat is surgically attached to my skull. I think it should be more focused on casually talking about personal life and feelings to avoid infighting. Also because i imagine the sailors going to the tavern to either celebrate with drinks or venting about life over a pint. Maybe we could have a "recent happenings" thread for news talk?

My first thought is that this anon lives in range of someone else that had a global ban. There's no bans recently listed on the logs for this board, so I doubt she did anything to warrant being blacklisted. I wonder if she lives in a major population centre and got caught up in someone else's range ban.

On the FAQ page, there is an email listed to contact Webmin. Perhaps this anon can shoot an email and see what's up.

Since Tor posting is accessible, banning VPNs wouldn't do much. There's been relative peace on the board, with most troublemakers being tourists and/or males, so I don't think a VPN/Tor ban is necessary as of yet.

Please give this post a quick read, especially if you visit other small imageboards. I have no clue if LC or CC will get targeted by this sort of attack as well; I also don't know if LC's existing countermeasures for CSAM will be effective for this sort of attack.

Simply put, don't hesitate to globally report something if it doesn't look right, false positives are fine.

Also, before anyone asks, Junkuchan has zero association with 8ch.

Thank you. Especially when the venting thread already deletes. I have a bad feeling for exactly why which personalityfag wants a GIOYC especially one that deletes and they can go ahead and keep that to lolcow because we can all just go there and see exactly what that person uses it for. It would basically become their own thread like it is on lcf, and they already go insane whenever someone posts on there or in the tinfoil thread there and it’s starting in the tinfoil thread here. Can it just be a no, go do that on the other site for fucks sake.

Genuinely not interesting enough to explain beyond why it’s not a good idea. the gioyc thread is like the “let’s not meet” thread pretty much every post in that thread is a meanspirited rant about an individual they are angry with at best and like half of the posts are straight up a logs. there’s literally a post talking about someone jumping someone and winning. like can we just not bring that energy in here no one needs a space to write shit like that, they have other places.
>>3549
I think the thread would fair better here sure, but I still think it's inviting bad posts. It's similar to the "unpopular opinion" thread. It would probably do better here, but the chances of it spiraling into a baitfest would increase by the day. I'm not horribly opposed to it if nonas want it, just feel personally it's a bad idea.
I don't really understand the purpose of GIOYC... I don't really understand the desire to post something and it not have any replies. Aren't you just looking for a diary at that point? I love my diary for that kind of thing.
Replies: >>3559
>>3556
the theory is to be able to vent like a diary and have it out there i guess. the problem is think about the type of people on here and the types of thoughts they want to say unchallenged. they wouldn’t be able to post their a logs in the vent thread without people being like okay so justify what they did because you sound unhinged. sometimes they are so bad in gioyc that people will comment. there was one in the last thread about a person deserving not only to die, but to die in a car crash because it would be painful and brutal, but unspecial because the person doesn’t deserve to die in a special way or some batshit insane reasoning like that? and that was one sentence of this scary rant. like no thank you, you should be showing those thoughts to a therapist because you’re a danger to society and maybe people don’t need to be able to vomit that on a page where they undoubtably do it to secretly hope that person sees it or they want some one to be affected i guess cos they’re choosing to make people look at those posts. there’s like posts saying they’re going to get into personal accounts and never stop cyberstalking someone. there’s some weird post that’s blacked out saying sorry i scared you off you can keep posting as if they’re talking to a poster on here and leaving them messages. it’s just so not needed the energy in there is so dark.
Replies: >>3564
>>3559
(Nta) I think some of them are purely bait, they probably think "I'll post something awful or scary and maybe someone - anyone - will read it" but they're not based on real life. Like 14 year olds who want to show off their edginess.
Replies: >>3566 >>3576
>>3564
The whole reason why I thought it would be okay in here because I think we're mature enough and more friendly in here and we wouldn't post something that horrible. But. I get the concern and those posts are scary for me too, though if I'm honest I never pay enough attention to what other anons in there say. I liked the idea of the thread being cyclical because of how this place offers actual anonymity vs the option of having your posts stay forever no matter what and mods having the possibility of sharing your post history. I don't like the idea of people using it for attention though... or to vague post about other anons. So I also agree with the others too.

The kind of post I envisioned was something like "I'm angry at my coworker for stealing all my cookies, he's a piece of work" not the "I hope your house gets caught up in a fire" type, like jesus I didn't know things were so dire in those threads.

Why is this being considered bait? I feel like if it was a moid trying to start shit, he'd have at least tried to say something vaguely inflammatory instead of silently posting the pic.
It was made by moids about their moid hobbies, so the casual misogyny is par for the course, but maybe the poster thought the core ideas applied to LC. Like how it started as a board about lolcows first and foremost, and newfags were expected to integrate, but then LC started to get popular and people started to make more "chatroom" threads which attracted outsiders not at all interested in the milk of the main boards until it got to the point where it started being shilled around as "4chan but for women" and now newfags come in expecting it to be exactly that and actively refusing to understand and integrate to the original LC culture, all culminating into the farmers becoming the cows.
Replies: >>3690 >>3692
>>3688
i was kinda thinking that's what they might have been trying to communicate by posting that. the issue was just that the original poster didn't elaborate any further and no one tried to ask them to explain what they were trying to say. i think if they tried to talk about the parallels between the image and lc in their post then it wouldn't have been an issue, but otherwise i guess it was a better safe than sorry thing for us to just assume that it was bait
Replies: >>3696

I don't think it's good to leave bait images up. Usually when stuff like this happens the nona who made the post speaks up and clarifies her point, but it was clearly some retard who decided to post stale bait and leave. It's weird to have to argue why a moid meme image should be taken down.

Very nice, nona. Just a remark: I believe that step 3 requires complacency on the part of the jannies and admin. It isn't just a matter of oldfags being outnumbered by newfags, if newfaggotry isn't being banned then the janny team is either lazy or already compromised and comprised of mostly newfags who think newfaggotry is normal, and the admin ultimately holds all the power to recruit and maintain a competent staff, if that is failing it's because the admin has stopped caring. So when a community gets to the point of being overrun by outsiders, it was already rotten to the core for a long time and is only now start to break down.

i would honestly be fine with any a logging that’s about men but then people start ranting about like boy children or boy animals and race stuff and it’s like… you guys need to learn when to hold ‘em. those are thoughts for a journal you show a mental health professional who can fix you. i would love an atmosphere where women can vent their frustrations about men but it always gets so fucking weird. i hope it’s not actually posters and always bait but idk about some of the people on lcf especially. there’s some real racist women in there. it does feel good to a log my ex sometimes for real though god he deserves it

Should there be a vent thread made or should it be taken to the confession thread?

The dumbass shit thread seems to serve as the catch all, so you probably should vent in there unless it's about something bad you did. Then it'd be a confession
